Antoinette, Elvin's wife, came down to Tortuguero
in 1985 to tag sea turtles. Originally from Connecticut, she is a full time mom, home school teacher and does all
the buying for the shop. While Elvin's hobby is fishing, Antoinette's is meeting new artisans and supporting
their creativity. Most of the artwork that you will find in our shop has a story behind it; a single mom working to support
her children through her art work, an ex-drug addict who is teaching others how to hand turn a wooden bowl, and many
more wonderful testimonies of people with vision.

| a real frog, not plastic! |
Even though I have been here for twenty years, I am still
in awe of the beauty of life that is all around. My children are seeing God's beautiful creation all around them. This little
frog was in our front yard. A day doesn't pass without us seeing something of wonderment. We are truly blessed!
